Happy Birthday Wishes!
***Congratulations to all Oak Harbor Middle School students, staff, and principals for being recognized last night by the Ohio School Boards Association Spring Conference for being a high progress school of honor, recognition of educational excellence and lastly for being a high momentum school for the 2017-18 school year. The middle school received an overall grade of A from the state of Ohio regarding test scores for 2018. It takes a village to make all of these great things happen so we thank everyone!
***BEST OF LUCK TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL BAND AND CHOIR STUDENTS TONIGHT AND TOMORROW AS THEY PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL OMEA, DISTRICT 2 ADJUDICATED EVENT. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL BE HOSTING SOME BANDS THIS EVENING.

***NEXT WEEK BEGINS ANOTHER BOX TOP TRADING EVENT. PLEASE BRING IN YOUR BOXTOPS AND/ OR PURCHASE TICKETS THE LENGTH OF A BUS FOR $20.00, THE LENGTH OF MR. SPURLOCK’S WINGSPAN FOR $10.00 OR 10 TICKETS FOR $1.00. PROCEEDS ARE FOR THE STUDENTS AND BEING SPONSORED BY THE ROCKET FAMILY GROUP.
** WEDNESDAY ART CLUB PARTICIPANTS-PLEASE HAVE YOUR RIDE HERE AT 4:30 PM
IMPORTANT….MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE NOT TO TAKE BOOK BAGS TO THEIR CLASSES. THEY ARE TO BE KEPT IN THE LOCKER. ONLY SUPPLIES LIKE PENCILS, PENS, TRAPPERS AND THE LIKE ARE TO GO TO CLASSES.
** MUSIC PLACEMENT FORMS FOR NEXT YEARS 6TH AND 7TH GRADERS HAVE BEEN SENT HOME AND ARE BE DUE BACK ASAP AND FOR SURE BY THE END OF MARCH (BEFORE SPRING BREAK)!
Menus are also available from the BCS Website from the Food Services Drop Down Option. We also make extra copies in the office for students who may request one. To make an on-line payment to your student’s lunch account, go to the BCS Website, to Food Service and then look forwww.k12Payment.com
If your child is going to be absent, please be sure to call the school office (419) 898-6217 to let us know. If you know in advance, you can send a note. We have vacation forms to complete when it will take place during the school year (with the exception of scheduled school vacations). Otherwise, we will be contacting you. TNT UPDATE—Bowling: The dates are Monday, March 11 and 12, March 18 and 19, April 1 and 2, April 8 and 9. Crafts will follow on Tuesday, April 16, 23, 30 and May 7th. Those students who have signed up have been notified.
Also, TNT Action Squad will be offering Ottawa County Wildlife Sessions in April. These classes are for students who have not had a chance to be in a session yet this school year. It will be a first come first serve basis so get your form in the office and turn it back in as soon as possible.
** Yearbook forms have been sent home with students, although we won’t receive the actual yearbooks until the beginning of the next school year; in order to be able to photo spring sports and other activities. Lifetouch requests ordering yearbooks at this time. You can also purchase a yearbook on line.Ybpay.lifetouch.com Yearbook ID code is 1824519 If you send a check, use the form that your child will bring home and then have him/her drop it off at the office, please. ***Boys Little League Forms are available in the office
Information forms are available also for summer softball for girls in grades 4-7 in the office.
**Sunday Fun Open Swims at Oak harbor High School beginning this Sunday, January. Date in January is Sunday the 27th. February 3, 10, 17, and 24 and in March 3, 10 and 17. Racquet ball courts will be available as well. Times are from 2-4 p.m. on Sundays and there is a limit of 4 on the racquet ball courts. Cost is $1.00 for students and $2.00 for adults for swim and $2.00 for the racquet ball courts. These events will be cancelled if Ottawa County is on a level 2 or 3. There will be a sight director on duty to ensure safety. BE SURE TO CHECK FOR ANY CANCELLATIONS DUE TO THE WEATHER.
LOST AND FOUND—LOTS OF SWEATSHIRTS, ETC. ARE HANGING IN THE CAFETERIA. IF YOUR CHILD IS MISSING SOMETHING, PLEASE ENCOURAGE THEM TO CHECK. THERE ARE ALSO 3 PAIRS OF GLASSES IN THE OFFICE, 2 LUNCH BOXES AND A BLACK PENCIL POUCH. WE HOPE THAT THESE ITEMS WILL BE CLAIMED BY THEIR OWNER(S)!
The 3rd quarter will end on March 22nd. GRADE CARDS WILL GO HOME ON APRIL 4TH (AFTER SPRING BREAK).
