OAK HARBOR MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

**ANY MAKE-UP TESTING WILL BE DONE THE WEEK OF MAY 6TH THROUGH THE 10TH   ONLY IF NECESSARY.

IMPORTANT….MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE NOT TO TAKE BOOK BAGS TO THEIR CLASSES.  THEY ARE TO BE KEPT IN THE LOCKER.  ONLY SUPPLIES LIKE PENCILS, PENS, TRAPPERS AND THE LIKE ARE TO GO TO CLASSES.

   

Menus are also available from the BCS Website from the Food Services Drop Down Option.  We also make extra copies in the office for students who may request one.  To make an on-line payment to your student’s lunch account, go to the BCS Website, to Food Service and then look forwww.k12Payment.com

If your child is going to be absent, please be sure to call the school office (419) 898-6217 to let us know. If you know in advance, you can send a note.  We have vacation forms to complete when it will take place during the school year (with the exception of scheduled school vacations).  Otherwise, we will be contacting you.  Thanks so much for your help with this.

TNT UPDATE—Last TNT Craft Class will be on Tuesday, (today) May 7th.

SPORTING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES:

TRACK  MEET – The boy's track team ended their season on a high note and brought home the Ottawa County trophy. The boy's set a new meet AND school record in the 4x200 meter relay. The new record is 1:42.9. Tait Dusseau took 2nd in the 1600 meter run and 3rd in the pole vault. 

The girls were second to Port Clinton. Ava Grieger took 2nd in the high jump with a season best of 4'6". Way to go Ava! The 4x1 team consisting of Kacey Wilburn, Delaney Blunt, Marissa Mapes and Paige Krupp took 2nd. Megan Rife took 2nd in the shot put and discus. The girl's also set a new meet record in the 4x200 meter relay. 

Congratulations to both teams!

PEE WEE CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS:  ATTN: ALL GIRLS ENTERING 5TH AND 6TH GRADE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR…If you are interested in trying out for the Pee Wee football cheerleading squad or competition cheerleading squad, tryouts will be held the week of May 13th.  Please see Ms. Zanni in room 113 to sign up and receive a packet.  GO ROCKETS!

Talent Show Forms are available in the office for students.  Without enough acts, we won’t be able to hold the talent show.

May is a very busy month….Here is what is on the calendar so far….(in addition to state testing dates and Camp Michindoh)

7th-  Tree Planting Ceremony with the Oak Harbor Tree Commission at 1 p.m.

8th-Middle School “Underground” Art Show 6-8 pm

9th- 4th grade field trip to Hayes Memorial in Fremont

10th- 4th grade Ag Day (at the high school)

14th- 6/7 Art Club Field Trip to the Art Museum and 5th grade REACH Field Trip

19th- High School Graduation at 2 pm

20th- 7th grade move-up day to the high school from 12:30-2 p.m.

21st- 4th grade ECON Fair and 3rd grade move-up day to the middle school

23rd- Middle School Field Day and Teacher Dunk Tank

24th – Rain Date for Field Day

27th- NO SCHOOL-Memorial Day

28th – 7th Grade Renaissance Fair

29th – Honor’s Breakfast (6th and 7th grade qualifying students)

29th – Cedar Point Trip for 7th Grade

30th – Talent Show (Forms are currently available in the office)

31st- Awards Day:  4th and 5th grade in the morning and 6th and 7th grade in the afternoon

31st – 5th grade goes to pool in the afternoon

31st – Last Day of School
