Good morning R.C. Waters!
Today is Monday, September 8, 2014
Welcome to the first full week of school - 5 whole days! YAY!
Today is “Word of the Month Monday” and we have a new word to celebrate - responsibility. There are several definitions of the word responsibility. The one we will discuss today is “something that you should do because it is right.” We all have different responsibilities. Mrs. Vasill has a responsibility to unlock the front doors in the morning so that our car-rider and walker friends can come through those doors. She takes that responsibility very seriously because she knows it is an important job. This summer it was my children’s responsibility to take care of their 4H projects. It’s not always fun to get up early and work hard in the summer but they knew it was the right thing to do. We all have a responsibility to look out for one another and help those who need it. If you see someone being unkind, hurtful or bullying another person you now have a responsibility to tell someone. You should not ignore it. Helping someone in that situation is the right thing to do. That is being responsible.
Today is BLUE day in the kindergarten color celebration. Did you know that blue is the most popular color choice for toothbrushes (mine is green!), it took 15 years for blue skittles to appear in the popular bagged candy and blue birds cannot even see the color they are named for. How about those blue facts?! Tomorrow’s color of the day is ….purple!
Hey kids, remind your loved ones that the T.I.E. group meeting is tomorrow night, Tuesday, from 6:00-7:00 pm. Make sure you come along - someone will be there to entertain you!
Make the day great R.C. Waters!!
