Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Friday, September 6, 2019

Today is the final day of our color celebration and it’s the biggest of them all - RAINBOW DAY!  That’s right! Here are some rainbow “did you knows”:

  • Rainbows normally appear from the rain, but they can happen wherever light is being bent inside of water droplets.

  • Rainbows can be seen in mist, fog, spray, and dew.

  • Rainbows are made up of all seven colors that come from light. These colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Happy Rainbow Day and thanks for celebrating the colors of the rainbow with us!

Tonight the Oak Harbor Rockets football team will take on the Genoa Comets at our home field, Rocket Stadium.  It is the 100th anniversary of the Celestial Bowl - which is what we call the football game between the Rockets and Comets.  It’s an exciting night! In honor of our first home football game, I would like to share with all of our students a few helpful hints to remember as we watch our Rocket teams compete this school year.

  • At the games, please stay with an adult with the stands instead of running around on the grass. You will have the best view of the game from the bleachers.

  • Litter bugs are not welcome at Rocket stadium.  Please pick up your trash and leave it in the trash cans.

  • Let’s be positive at each and every game.  Cheer both teams on - booing is not our best choice.

  • Watch how hard the big kids work both on and off the field.  They do their best in the classroom and with their homework. Remember to be respectful, Responsible and ready just like our high school students try their best to do too!

  • Let’s show our Rocket Pride each and every day!  GO ROCKETS!!

Now I will ask everyone to please stand tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and join our announcements leader in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  After we are finished with the Pledge we will get ready for our day with the “Rocket Rumble” and finish up with the Fight Song.

  • Today, what are we going to be? Rocket Respectful!

  • What are we going to be on this AMAZING ROCKET FOOTBALL FRIDAY? Rocket Responsible!

  • What are we going to be FOR THE BIG OAK HARBOR vs GENOA FOOTBALL GAME? Rocket Ready!

  • Who are we? We are the Rockets!

Always remember you’ve got a friend in me to R.C. Waters and BEYOND!
