Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Monday, April 13, 2015

The word of the month for April is perseverance.  Perserverance means despite having difficulties or losing, one never gives up.  I found several examples to share with you today..Walt Disney: The man who gave us Disney World and Mickey Mouse. His first animation company went bankrupt. He was fired by a news editor cause he lacked imagination. Legend has it he was urned down 302 times before he got the money to create Disney World.

Vincent Van Gogh: He only sold one painting in his lifetime!  Just one to a friend. Despite that he kept painting and finished over 800 pieces. Now everyone wants to buy them and his most expensive painting is valued at $142.7 million.

Michael Jordan: He’s famous for being cut from his high school basketball team. He turned out to be the greatest basketball player but never let failure deter him. He once said...

“I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Perseverance is our word of the month.

Duck Drop orders are due by this Thursday.  Our top 4 selling R.C. Waters students will receive a special prize from the Relay For Life Committee.  With the purchase of each ticket, one will receive a one day waterpark pass to Monsoon Lagoon or a roundtrip ticket on the Miller Boat Ferry to Put-In-Bay.  Last year I bought the Monsoon Lagoon passes and this year I bought the Miller Ferry passes.  You can’t go wrong either way and you will be helping the American Cancer Society with every purchase!
