Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Friday, May 1, 2015

Today is Rocket Wear Spirit Day!  GOOOO ROCKETS!!!

Birthdays & Summertime Birthdays

Today is Rocket Pride Friday...over the next few Fridays in May I will speak about  each of the retiring staff members which includes Mrs. Gruber, Mrs. Jensen, Mrs. Rodenhauser and Mrs. White.  They have dedicated many, many years of their lives to their students and we want to celebrate and thank them!  Each of them are great examples of Rocket Pride so stay tuned for throughout the month of May!

Next week we will celebrate staff appreciation week but today is also a very special day...it’s School Lunch Hero Day!  This day was created by the School Nutrition Association.  Our ladies in the cafe’ prepare healthy meals for students and staff while following strict nutrition standards, keeping food allergies in mind, and offering service with a smile.  This day aims to showcase the ways in which school nutrition professionals make a difference for every child who comes through the cafeteria.  School Lunch Hero Day is the perfect opportunity to recognize the hardworking professionals in school cafeterias. Thank you to our school lunch heros!

Ivy’s Benefit

A benefit to help the family of 1st grader Ivy Moss will be held on Saturday May 30 at Camp Sabroske.  There will be fun games, great food and more with all of the money raised to help Ivy’s family.

On Saturday a Family Fun Fair will be held in Port Clinton at Bataan Elementary School from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Ronald McDonald and SpongeBob will make an appearance, there will be games, activities and prizes to enjoy.

Also happening tomorrow here in Oak Harbor a Community Cleanup Day will be held.  Everyone is invited to meet in the IGA parking lot at 9:00 am that morning.  This is a great way to help your community and also participate in community service.

Looking forward to next week…next week is Staff Appreciation Week - we love our staff members!  Monday is Bus Driver Appreciation Day, Tuesday is National Teacher Day, National School Nurse Day is Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, the seniors will serve the staff lunch. On Tuesday and Thursday our 3rd grade friends will take the PARCC test.  Breakfast will be served before the testing begins.  Thursday lunch will be brought to us by our friends with T.A.C.K.L.E.  Friday is the OAA swim and pizza party for 3rd graders to congratulate them on their hard work for this year’s tests.  Friday night is the big retirement party!  What a great week we have ahead of us!

Make the day & your weekend great R.C. Waters!!
