Good morning R.C. Waters!
Today is Tuesday, May 19, 2015
Today is letter “P” day in our end-of-school year countdown. Here’s a little poem for all of you… “Roses are red, violets are blue, I love R.C.Waters and and I hope you do too!” Tomorrow is “Q for Queen Day.”
We have boys and girls basketball camp forms out - if you need another one please let us know.
3rd graders will have Lifeskills today.
Relay for Life water bottles are due today. The RFL team appreciates every donation made in the fight against cancer. Make sure your name is on the bottle so that you can earn your cape! You are all super heros!
On Friday, King K and Queen M declared today to be special songs and suckers day. Tis’ the day of the letter “S.” For those readers who completed their contracts, you will be treated to a royal ball today. Please join the King and Queen in your finest attire for dancing in the royal gymnasium from 8:30-9:00 for our 1st and 3rd graders and from 9:00-9:30 for our K and 2nd graders. Thank you to the reading teachers and everyone who helped make our 2015 Right to Read Week a great success! Long live reading!
Attention Talent Show performers, you will be practicing your routine next week during your recess time. Please practice this week and be prepared for next week. If you are using music, it should have been turned in last week to the office. You need a copy at home in order to practice with.
It’s Healthy Tip Tuesday! Thursday is the annual R.C. Waters Art Show. In honor of this, I would like to share a few tips on our Healthy Tip Tuesday of why it is healthy to participate in art.
Creating art is a very effective way to stimulate the brain. Keep your brain moving and it will keep working hard for your body.
Anyone can do it - art is meant for everyone of every body shape, learning style and place in this world.
Art stimulates the imagination - get those creative juices flowing!
Art makes you more observant - artists look around and take in more of what is happening around them.
Art boosts self-esteem and provides a sense of accomplishment
Art reduces stress - next time you feel stressed, bring your creative side out and you will feel your problems slip way.
Tomorrow is field day! This is an exciting day outside. Let’s make sure we are prepared by wearing tennis shoes (no flip flops), clothes you can move easily in and let’s all bring a water bottle. Staying hydrated is important!
2nd grade Bus Guards should meet their trainers down by the cafeteria today at 2:40 pm. Training will continue through Friday.
For those that have not turned in their Barnes and Noble reading contacts, please do so as soon as possible.
Make your day great R.C.Waters!
